Morocco recently reiterated its firm commitment to enhancing the protection of minors impacted by armed conflicts. Addressing the African Union’s Peace and Security Council (AUPSC) on Wednesday, the nation underscored the critical importance of preventing child recruitment, ensuring their safety, and facilitating their sustainable reintegration into society.
During an AUPSC session specifically dedicated to the “protection of child soldiers in Africa,” the Moroccan delegation highlighted that children continue to bear the brunt of persistent conflicts across the continent. They face severe risks, including forced recruitment, brutal violence, and disrupted access to education, all of which profoundly jeopardize their long-term prospects.
