As Paris Saint-Germain gears up for its Champions League final, the club’s leadership is already intensely focused on the upcoming summer transfer window. The Parisian giants are reportedly keeping a close watch on Julian Alvarez, who is expected to depart Atlético Madrid this summer. However, it appears another major European club is on the verge of submitting the first official offer for the talented forward.
In just a few hours, PSG will contest its second consecutive Champions League final, facing Arsenal on May 30th in Budapest. Yet, even amidst this crucial fixture, Parisian officials are meticulously planning their summer recruitment strategy. The Rouge-et-Bleu aim to strengthen several key positions, particularly in their attacking line-up. Julian Alvarez’s name has frequently surfaced in recent weeks as a prime target. Nevertheless, the Ligue 1 champions might find themselves outmaneuvered by FC Barcelona, who are reportedly preparing to make an immediate move for the Argentine international.
“The offer will be sent before the start of the World Cup”
Following discussions with Julian Alvarez’s agent, Barcelona has decided to formalize an offer for the player, set to be submitted in the coming days. The club is currently finalizing the details internally but intends to dispatch this initial official bid before the commencement of the World Cup. The total package for Alvarez is anticipated to be around €100M, potentially including various bonuses, but crucially, it will not involve any player exchanges.
Will PSG be outpaced for Julian Alvarez?
The crucial question now remains whether Atlético Madrid will be persuaded by such a proposal for Julian Alvarez. Recent reports from the Spanish press had suggested a slightly higher valuation for the player than what FC Barcelona is reportedly prepared to offer. This situation could open the door for PSG to potentially regain an advantage in this transfer saga with a more compelling proposition in the days ahead. Concurrently, the Parisian management is also understood to be exploring other offensive avenues in the transfer market. The developments are certainly worth following closely.
