Benin’s President Romuald Wadagni concludes productive working visit to Lomé
On Wednesday, President Romuald Wadagni of the Republic of Benin arrived in Lomé for an official working visit, marking another milestone in the deepening partnership between Benin and Togo. The visit underscores the shared commitment of both nations to strengthen bilateral cooperation on key regional priorities.
Upon landing at the Gnassingbé Eyadéma International Airport, the Beninese leader was greeted by a high-level delegation led by Togo’s President Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé. The meeting focused on critical areas including economic integration, regional stability, and cross-border development.
This visit is part of a broader regional tour initiated by President Wadagni following his inauguration in May. Lomé continues to serve as a vital hub for diplomatic exchanges in West Africa, reinforcing its role as a center for political dialogue and regional coordination.
An official reception was held at the airport, attended by top government officials, members of parliament, and traditional leaders from across the Greater Lomé area. The event highlighted the importance of this diplomatic engagement.
Beyond formalities, the visit signals a renewed push for collaboration in trade, infrastructure development, energy, security, and the facilitation of free movement between the two countries. With deep historical and geographical ties, Benin and Togo are reinforcing their alliance to accelerate regional growth and integration.
Two neighboring nations, two allied peoples—strengthening a partnership that drives progress.
