Morocco shines at Düsseldorf’s consular evening celebrating 70 years of ties

The Kingdom of Morocco took center stage at Düsseldorf’s prestigious «Konsularischer Abend» on June 2, 2026, marking a historic milestone in its diplomatic and economic relations with Germany. The event, held to commemorate 70 years of Moroccan-German partnership, brought together over 300 influential policymakers, business leaders, and cultural figures in a celebration of collaboration.

The Moroccan Consul General in Düsseldorf, Ms. Boutaina Bouabid, and Mr. Ismail Lamghari, Secretary-General of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, highlighted the strength of the strategic alliance between Rabat and Berlin. They emphasized the pivotal role played by the Moroccan diaspora in Germany, serving as a vital bridge fostering mutual understanding and economic exchange between the two nations.

Organized with the support of the Moroccan National Tourism Office (ONMT), the evening showcased Morocco’s rich cultural heritage and modern achievements. Attendees were treated to a dazzling display of traditional caftan fashion and an enchanting live Gnawa performance, underscoring the Kingdom’s vibrant identity. A highlight of the program was the screening of recent national accomplishments, further illustrating Morocco’s progress on the global stage.

This gathering reaffirmed the shared commitment of both countries to deepen their diplomatic, economic, and cultural ties for years to come, setting the stage for even stronger bilateral relations in the future.
