Libreville plays host to a pivotal industrial summit, drawing government officials, business leaders, and European delegates to discuss Gabon’s bold economic transformation agenda. The event, running until June 26 at the Chamber of Commerce, centers on leveraging European expertise to drive local industrialization and resource-based wealth creation.
strengthening european-Gabon partnerships for economic sovereignty
The gathering highlights Gabon’s Sovereign Productive Strategy, a government-driven initiative to reduce reliance on imports by transforming raw materials locally. European enterprises—particularly in the energy sector—are returning in force, with over 30 companies re-engaging with Gabon’s market.
Fabrice Mauriès, France’s Ambassador to Gabon, emphasized the need to enhance the country’s appeal amid fierce international competition. Meanwhile, Me Lubin Ntoutoume, Minister of Industry and Local Transformation, reaffirmed Gabon’s vision: becoming a hub for high-value jobs, innovation, and economic diversification through natural resource processing.
the PNCD 2026-2030: a roadmap for industrial growth
Hermann Immongault, Vice-President of Gabon’s government, outlined the National Growth and Development Plan (PNCD) as the driving force behind this transformation. The strategy allocates 27 trillion CFA francs to industrialization, with 18 trillion earmarked for manufacturing and value-added production over the next six years.
“This plan isn’t just ambition—it’s action. By 2030, Gabon will stand as a model of sustainable industrial growth, powered by local expertise and strategic foreign partnerships,” Immongault stated.
