Propos sur Ousmane Sonko : La journaliste Aïssatou Diop Fall convoquée par la Division spéciale de cybersécurité

Renowned journalist Aïssatou Diop Fall is currently facing legal repercussions following contentious remarks she made concerning Ousmane Sonko, which included a call for his abduction. Despite issuing a public apology, she has received a summons from the Special Cybersecurity Division and is scheduled to provide explanations to investigators.
The summons for journalist Aïssatou Diop Fall to appear before the National Police’s Special Cybersecurity Division (DSC) comes as a direct result of a self-referral initiated by the Prosecutor of the Republic at the High Court of Dakar.
Reports indicate that the head of Public SN television channel is expected to meet with investigators this Monday. The purpose of the hearing is to address her statements, which sparked considerable controversy across social media platforms and within public discourse.
Controversial statements by Aïssatou Diop Fall
The controversy originated from a media appearance where the journalist expressed a desire for Ousmane Sonko, the president of PASTEF, to be kidnapped by terrorists. These comments rapidly ignited a wave of strong reactions and widespread criticism.
In response to the public outcry, Aïssatou Diop Fall subsequently released a new video, offering her apologies and expressing deep regret for her earlier declarations.
However, despite these public apologies, Prosecutor Ibrahima Ndoye has instructed the head of the Special Cybersecurity Division to proceed with her formal summons to ensure she is questioned regarding the facts of the matter.
