Mali: Human Rights Watch questions Africa Corps over civilian strikes
Human Rights Watch has released findings from an investigation into airstrikes conducted by Africa Corps in Kyrnia, Mopti region, on June 15. The strikes resulted in eight civilian fatalities. The rights group confirmed none of the victims were members of the Jama’at Nusrat al-Islam wal Muslimeen (JNIM), contradicting claims made by Mali’s Russian military partners. Ilaria Allegrozzi, Senior Sahel Researcher at Human Rights Watch, detailed these findings in a recent report.
