Paris court magistrates brace for possible unrest after Champions League final featuring PSG vs Arsenal
Seven judges, including specialists from the juvenile court, are on standby to handle any public order violations during post-match celebrations.
The judicial system is gearing up for a high-stakes weekend. Paris prosecutors have announced they will activate an enhanced emergency response plan to address potential crowd disturbances following the Champions League final between Paris Saint-Germain and Arsenal in Budapest on Saturday.
According to the public prosecutor’s office, up to seven magistrates will be mobilized—both for major cases and juvenile matters—beyond the usual specialized duty teams. The juvenile court’s response protocols have been adjusted in coordination with neighboring jurisdictions to ensure quicker interventions for minors outside Paris proper.
The Paris prosecutor emphasized that immediate court hearings will be prioritized starting Saturday, even before large gatherings form, in anticipation of violent incidents flagged by law enforcement and local authorities. Investigative proceedings can be launched to extend inquiries beyond initial detention periods, and serious offenses reported after the fact will also be pursued with thorough follow-up.
