PSG’s final preparation under Luis Enrique before Champions League showdown
The Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is now in the final stretch of their season, with just days remaining before their high-stakes UEFA Champions League final. Under the guidance of manager Luis Enrique, the team is navigating a unique break in competitive fixtures with a carefully planned approach to maintain peak performance.
Tactical refinement during the pre-final lull
The two-week hiatus between domestic league conclusion and the Champions League final presents an unusual scenario for the French capital club. Rather than easing off, Luis Enrique’s staff is capitalizing on this window to sharpen the team’s tactical execution. Training sessions now focus on fine-tuning collective strategies and reinforcing instinctive game patterns.
We’re dedicating extra time to tactical drills because this break is rare. We’re polishing every detail to elevate our attacking game even further, if possible. — Luis Enrique
Internal intensity: training matches within the squad
In a bold move, the club has opted against scheduling a friendly match with an outside opponent. Instead, they’re hosting internal scrimmages to sustain competitive intensity using only their own first-team players. This decision reflects confidence in the squad’s depth and quality.
We’ll play against ourselves, and I don’t believe any team in the world can match our level of talent. — João Neves, midfielder
Smart rest for mental recovery before Budapest
The coaching team has strategically built in rest days to allow players to recharge mentally. This includes extended periods off the pitch, giving athletes space to disconnect and reconnect with family ahead of the final in Budapest on May 30, 2026.
We’ve already had two full rest days and will have more before the final. This time is crucial for mental recovery and spending quality moments with loved ones. — Lucas Hernandez, defender
The stakes are high: a victory would secure PSG’s second consecutive UEFA Champions League title, further cementing their legacy in European football.
