In a clear affirmation of Biya’s vitality, René Emmanuel Sadi, Cameroon’s Minister of Communication and government spokesperson, declared in a recent statement that the president is “alive and well.” He also categorically dismissed rumors of Biya’s resignation, stating that the president is set to return to Cameroon in the near future, thus ruling out any current vacancy in the nation’s highest office.
While acknowledging Biya’s recent medical procedure, Sadi maintained discretion about its specifics, confirming only that the president underwent surgery in Geneva. He clarified that Biya is not hospitalized but is recuperating in Switzerland.
