Military leaders from Chad and the Central African Republic are intensifying joint efforts to bolster security along their shared border. A high-level meeting, led by General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor, commander of the Chad-Central African Republic joint force, was held to assess recent field operations and address emerging threats.
The gathering brought together key defense officials from both nations to review the outcomes of the Al-Hamamia 1 and Al-Hamamia 2 initiatives, which focused on neutralizing security risks in vulnerable border zones. Discussions also highlighted persistent challenges, including transnational crime and cross-border incursions.
During the talks, participants explored advanced tactics to strengthen the presence of defense and security forces in high-risk areas. A new operational plan, proposed by the G5 Sahel’s regional task force, was greenlit by General Moubarak Abakar Nassour Hor for the upcoming Sentinelle mission.
This strategic move involves deploying additional military units equipped with fixed and mobile surveillance posts. The primary goals include detecting suspicious movements more efficiently, accelerating response times, and deepening security collaboration between Chad and the Central African Republic.
According to the joint force commander, these measures are designed to safeguard civilians living near the border and counter evolving security threats more effectively. The enhanced coordination aims to create a safer environment for communities on both sides of the frontier.
