French enterprises maintain strong presence in Senegal

Across Senegal, from the bustling Dakar corniche to the historic Gorée Island, and from the airport highway to remote rural villages, tens of thousands of solar streetlights now illuminate the nation. This significant market segment is largely led by two French enterprises: Ragni, a family-owned company from the Alpes-Maritimes region, and Fonroche, an SME headquartered in Agen. These firms are among the 340 French businesses currently operating within the country. While perhaps less globally recognized than prominent French conglomerates like Orange, TotalEnergies, Auchan, or Eiffage, which have long-standing roots in West Africa, numerous small and medium-sized enterprises are discovering substantial growth prospects within this vibrant Senegalese market.
