The future of Africa’s economic landscape is shaped in key forums where policymakers, international financial institutions, and economists converge to exchange ideas and strategies.
The Minister of Planning and Development, Dr. Souleymane Diarrassouba, took center stage on Saturday, July 11, 2026, delivering the keynote address at the African Economic Conference 2026. He was joined by the President of the African Development Bank Group, Dr. Sidi Ould Tah, along with representatives from the United Nations, UNDP, OECD, and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa—all co-organizers of the event held at the AfDB headquarters in Abidjan.
Each year, this high-level gathering brings together Africa’s top development leaders, chief economists from multilateral banks, central bank governors, research institutions, and government officials. Together, they analyze the continent’s most pressing economic transformations and chart a course for sustainable growth amid shifting global dynamics.
Against a backdrop of geopolitical realignments and evolving development financing challenges, Côte d’Ivoire presented its proven approach to economic transformation through the 2026-2030 National Development Plan. The Minister, who also serves as Côte d’Ivoire’s Governor at the African Development Bank, emphasized the government’s commitment to forward-thinking public policies, resilient reforms, and a business-friendly environment.
The country’s participation underscores its proactive role in shaping Africa’s development agenda. By sharing its expertise in strategic planning, policy coordination, and multi-stakeholder partnerships, Côte d’Ivoire reaffirms its position as a key player in driving inclusive and sustainable economic progress across the continent.
