Ivorian President Alassane Ouattara expressed his satisfaction following an unprecedented financial mobilization of over 47,000 billion F CFA (approximately $80 billion) for the country’s 2026-2030 National Development Plan (PND). This historic achievement underscores the strong international confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic stability and strategic vision.
Speaking at the close of the Consultative Group meeting for the PND 2026-2030, held in Abidjan on July 8-9, 2026, the President highlighted the participation of over 2,000 investors from 49 countries. The delegation included high-level representatives from financial institutions, investment funds, banks, business associations, public and private enterprises, and key development partners.
The two-day event culminated in financial commitments totaling $80 billion—nearly four times the initial target of 11,138.2 billion F CFA. The PND 2026-2030 sets ambitious goals, with a projected total investment of 114,838.5 billion F CFA (around $209 billion) over five years. The private sector is expected to drive 70.2% of this transformation, playing a pivotal role in the country’s economic and social progress.
Six strategic priorities have been outlined for the plan: peace, security, and stability; agriculture and agro-industry; private sector growth and industrialization; human capital development; strategic infrastructure; and governance and state modernization. The government has pledged to prioritize Ivorian businesses in implementing these initiatives.
On the macroeconomic front, the plan aims to elevate Côte d’Ivoire to the status of an upper-middle-income economy by 2030. Key targets include raising the GDP per capita to $4,500 and reducing poverty to below 20%. President Ouattara emphasized that the state’s role is to translate these financial commitments into tangible benefits for all Ivorians—more schools, hospitals, roads, jobs, and shared prosperity.
Closing his address, he urged the nation to move forward with confidence, unity, and determination, stating: « Together, we will build a more prosperous and united Côte d’Ivoire. »
