Just one year after joining Paris Saint-Germain, Lucas Chevalier finds himself in a challenging position. The 24-year-old goalkeeper, notably overlooked for the World Cup squad, could be on the move from Paris this summer. While the French shot-stopper awaits clarity from Parisian management regarding his future, two international clubs have recently initiated inquiries about the former LOSC player.

What lies ahead for Lucas Chevalier? Acquired for an estimated €55 million (including bonuses) last summer, the goalkeeper, who developed through the LOSC academy, endured a remarkably difficult inaugural season with PSG. Having fallen in the pecking order behind Matvey Safonov, the Calais native is anticipated to face a pivotal summer regarding his career trajectory. Chevalier, who was not selected by Didier Deschamps for the World Cup, is currently on vacation, awaiting further insight into PSG’s plans for his continued presence at the club.
Besiktas expresses interest in Lucas Chevalier
Furthermore, in recent weeks, various clubs have reportedly sought information concerning Lucas Chevalier’s availability. Tottenham had previously shown interest. More recently, however, it is Besiktas that has actively explored the situation. The Turkish club, currently in search of a high-caliber goalkeeper, has therefore positioned itself regarding the 24-year-old’s status. Nevertheless, it is understood that should he depart, Lucas Chevalier would likely favor a more compelling project.
“To regain confidence he will have to look elsewhere”
On this matter, respected consultant Laure Boulleau recently suggested that a summer departure would be the optimal path for Lucas Chevalier. “I take no pleasure in knowing he experienced a catastrophic, even cataclysmic season,” she remarked. “He truly needs to rebound; I don’t believe he became inept overnight. He must regain confidence, but to regain confidence, he will have to look elsewhere. He needs to move to a place where he can be happy and rediscover the qualities we know he possesses.”
