Mamadou Sangaré is set to embark on a new chapter after a standout season in Ligue 1. The Malian midfielder has finalized his move to Brentford FC in a high-profile transfer, as announced by RC Lens. While the exact fee remains undisclosed, British media reports suggest it exceeds €45 million.
Joining Lens last summer from Rapid Vienna, the 24-year-old playmaker has inked a five-year contract with the English club. His transfer marks the most expensive signing in Brentford’s history, solidifying his rapid rise in European football.
Sangaré’s departure follows a remarkable season in France, where he became a key figure in Lens’s starting lineup. His contributions were instrumental in clinching the Coupe de France title and earning him the prestigious Marc-Vivien Foé Award, recognizing Ligue 1’s best African player.
