Without Champions League football next season, Olympique de Marseille must accept losing key players, including Mason Greenwood. While AS Roma have shown interest in the English forward, Fenerbahçe are determined to take the lead in this race. A fresh bid could arrive in the coming days.

Greenwood departure now a matter of when, not if
The question is no longer whether Mason Greenwood will leave OM during the summer transfer window, but when. The English attacker holds the highest market value in the squad and must be sold to help the Marseille club balance its books. AS Roma, Atlético Madrid, Fenerbahçe and Al-Hilal are among the possible destinations. However, OM will not sell Mason Greenwood on the cheap, especially since Manchester United are entitled to 40% of any transfer fee.
Fenerbahçe ready to raise their offer
Fenerbahçe have already tabled a €35 million bid, which OM turned down. That has not discouraged the Turkish club, which is expected to submit a new proposal before the end of the month. OM are pushing for a swift resolution, as the DNCG has requested additional financial information before making its decision. AS Roma have not given up hope either.
What fee will OM demand for Greenwood?
The key question now is how much OM will ultimately receive, with time running short. Not long ago, when Greenwood was in top form, much higher figures were being discussed. Now, after a dip in both Marseille’s and Greenwood’s performances towards the end of the season, a €50 million fee has been mentioned. One analyst noted that a player capable of scoring around 20 goals per season in Ligue 1 is worth much more, suggesting OM should wait until a clause pushing the price to €60 million kicks in on July 1st before selling.
