Morocco Joins Gaza Stabilization Force with Landmark Agreement
This week, Morocco took a historic step by signing the agreement to participate in the International Stabilization Force (ISF) for Gaza. The accord establishes the legal and operational framework for Morocco’s contribution, reflecting a shared commitment to humanitarian and security efforts aimed at fostering peace and stability in the region.

The agreement was formalized during a high-level meeting in Rabat between Moroccan officials and representatives of the Gaza Peace Council. Among those present were Nasser Bourita, Morocco’s Minister of Foreign Affairs, and Abdeltif Loudyi, Minister Delegate for National Defense Administration, alongside Nickolay Mladenov, the UN’s High Representative for Gaza Peace.
Morocco’s participation in the ISF underscores its long-standing dedication to international peacekeeping. The country brings extensive experience from decades of UN-backed missions, reinforcing its role as a stabilizing force in conflict zones. Key contributions will include deploying senior officers from the Royal Armed Forces (FAR), Gendarmerie Royale personnel, and National Security Directorate officers to the ISF joint command.
a commitment rooted in regional stability
During discussions, Moroccan officials highlighted the Kingdom’s proactive stance on regional security, emphasizing initiatives led by His Majesty King Mohammed VI that promote integration and social progress across Africa. The delegation also announced plans to establish a field military hospital as part of its humanitarian contribution to Gaza.
Leaders from the Gaza Peace Council and ISF Command praised Morocco’s involvement, calling it a “decisive contribution to peace efforts in the region.” The agreement signed this week outlines technical and operational details, ensuring Morocco’s role aligns with international standards for peacekeeping operations.
aligning with global peacekeeping values
By joining the ISF, Morocco reaffirms its alignment with global peacekeeping principles. The country’s participation follows its founding membership in the Gaza Peace Council, established during an inaugural meeting in Washington under the patronage of international leaders. This move reflects Morocco’s strategic vision for fostering stability through dialogue and coordinated security efforts.
