The Kingdom of Morocco has firmly integrated humanitarian action into its foreign policy and African cooperation framework, as outlined by the visionary leadership of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, a senior diplomat recently emphasized during a high-level session of the African Union’s Peace and Security Council (AUPSC).
Speaking before the AUPSC’s public debate on refugee crises, internally displaced persons (IDPs), and humanitarian assistance across Africa, Morocco’s Permanent Representative to the African Union and the United Nations Economic Commission for Africa, Mr. Mohamed Arrouchi, highlighted the country’s proactive role in addressing the continent’s most pressing humanitarian challenges. Under the guidance of His Majesty King Mohammed VI, Morocco—appointed as the AU Champion on migration—has made humanitarian aid a cornerstone of its diplomatic engagements and regional solidarity initiatives, the envoy noted.
Mr. Arrouchi underscored Morocco’s unwavering commitment to alleviating suffering across the continent, regardless of geographical boundaries, by mobilizing resources and implementing targeted interventions to support vulnerable populations grappling with displacement, conflict, or natural disasters.
