Niger 2026 investment forum kicks off with official committee launch

The Government of Niger has taken a decisive step toward organizing the 2026 edition of the Invest in Niger Forum, scheduled for November 24–26, 2026. A dedicated committee has been officially inaugurated in Niamey, tasked with transforming the event into a showcase of the country’s economic potential for both domestic and international investors.

The countdown has now officially begun. At a ceremony in the capital, authorities installed the ad-hoc committee responsible for preparing the International Invest in Niger Forum. Speaking to the newly appointed members, Mr. Abdoulaye Seydou, Minister of Trade and Industry, underscored the event’s critical importance for the nation’s economic future.

The forum is designed as a platform to highlight investment opportunities across several key sectors of national development. According to the minister, Niger boasts substantial economic potential that authorities must now leverage by fostering an environment capable of reassuring, attracting, and supporting both domestic and foreign investment.

Rigor and synergy: the pillars of success

The minister urged committee members to uphold professionalism, adhere strictly to deadlines, and foster seamless collaboration among all stakeholders involved. This call to action aims to ensure the success of an event with ambitions far beyond national borders. The forum will welcome high-level delegations from several guest countries, including Turkey, China, and Russia, as well as special guests from across Africa and beyond.

A broad diplomatic mobilization

The guest list extends beyond the invited nations to include delegations from Burkina Faso and Mali, key partners within the Sahel States Confederation (AES), along with representatives from Togo, Ghana, Chad, Algeria, Tunisia, Libya, India, and Saudi Arabia.

Four specialized subcommittees for streamlined leadership

The ad-hoc committee comprises experts from various sectoral ministries and professional bodies, structured into four specialized subcommittees, each assigned a distinct mandate:

  • Scientific

  • Logistics, Exhibitions, Protocol, and Security

  • Communication and Institutional Coordination

  • Investment Promotion and Project Selection

The committee’s mission is expansive: devising the event’s organizational strategy, crafting the program of activities, identifying bankable projects for investor presentations, and ensuring robust promotion and visibility both nationally and internationally.

Positioning Niger as a prime investment destination

Beyond logistical organization, this initiative reflects a broader political vision. The authorities of the Refoundation are determined to revitalize the national economy and position Niger as a strategic and preferred destination for private, regional, and international capital. The Invest in Niger Forum serves as a key diplomatic and economic tool in this effort, particularly as regional countries seek to diversify their economic partnerships.

The newly formed committee now faces the challenge of translating this ambitious agenda into a successful event in just over four months—delivering on the high expectations set by the government.
