The Paris Saint-Germain squad has landed in Budapest ahead of the highly anticipated UEFA Champions League final against Arsenal on Saturday, May 30. As France grapples with an unrelenting heatwave, the French capital’s footballers are set to find relief in the Hungarian capital’s milder climate.
The arrival of the PSG delegation on Friday morning marked the beginning of their preparation for a clash that will unfold under near-ideal weather conditions. While the players departed Paris under scorching temperatures, the shift to Budapest promises a more temperate environment for the decisive showdown.
Clear skies and comfortable temperatures for the final
The Hungarian capital is expected to deliver a picture-perfect backdrop for the fixture. Meteorological forecasts predict a high of just 24°C on Saturday, ensuring the 22 players on the pitch won’t be burdened by oppressive heat. The match, scheduled for 18:00 local time instead of the usual 21:00 slot, will take place under overcast skies but with no threat of rain.
The PSG team, which touched down in Budapest on Friday, was greeted by bright sunshine and temperatures hovering around 20°C. Training sessions are set to begin at 16:45, following Luis Enrique’s pre-match press conference at the Puskás Aréna.
No absentees as PSG targets back-to-back triumphs
With a second consecutive Champions League title in their sights, the Parisian side arrives in Hungary with a fully fit squad. The team sheet released on Friday morning by the Spanish manager featured no surprises—Lucas Chevalier, Achraf Hakimi, and Ousmane Dembélé, despite recent fitness concerns, have all been named in the starting lineup.
