Deputy Guy Marius Sagna has submitted a formal written inquiry to the government concerning the bonuses designated for Ministry of Sports personnel, which were pledged after Senegal’s historic triumph at the Africa Cup of Nations.

In a document, officially dated May 5, 2026, the parliamentarian directly challenged the Minister of Sports regarding the actual disbursement of these rewards, which authorities had announced following the Lions’ continental championship win.

Inquiries into Ministry Staff Bonuses

According to the correspondence, signed by the Deputy representing the XVth Legislature, employees within the Ministry are eager to ascertain whether they are included among the beneficiaries of the measures announced by the President of the Republic in the aftermath of the CAN victory. Guy Marius Sagna specifically highlighted that a total allocation of 305 million CFA francs had been publicly announced for the bonuses intended for Ministry of Sports staff.

“Madam Minister, have the agents of the Ministry of Sports received their reward?” the Deputy’s note to the government pointedly asks, seeking a clear response on the matter.
