In a congratulatory message to King Mohammed VI on the occasion of Morocco’s Throne Day, the U.S. President reaffirmed the depth of the two-century-old partnership between the two nations. The message highlighted a shared history built on mutual trust and respect, celebrating 250 years of diplomatic ties and enduring friendship.
Addressing the Western Sahara issue directly, the U.S. leader underscored that any alternative approach would merely prolong an unacceptable status quo. The statement stressed the urgency of resolving the conflict, asserting, “This dispute must conclude now.” The U.S. pledged to continue driving progress toward a definitive solution.
Underscoring Morocco’s pivotal role in regional stability, the message praised the Moroccan monarchy’s wise leadership as a cornerstone of security. It acknowledged Rabat’s consistent commitment to fostering peace, countering extremism, and safeguarding shared security interests—particularly through its instrumental role in the Abraham Accords.
