Yan diomande’s psg transfer collapses over €120m price tag

After a stunning debut season with RB Leipzig, Yan Diomande has become one of the most sought-after young wingers in Europe. The 19-year-old Ivory Coast international, who racked up 13 goals and 10 assists in all competitions, also impressed on his 2026 World Cup debut against Ecuador (a 1-0 win for the Elephants). His future has been the subject of intense speculation, with Paris Saint-Germain and Liverpool both reportedly keen.

“I arrive in the US and they tell me he’s going to sign for Liverpool”

When asked about the transfer rumours during the World Cup, Diomande kept his focus on the tournament: “My agents handle that. I’m fully concentrated on the World Cup — that’s the priority. It only comes every four years, so I’m making the most of it. The rest we’ll see.” Even Ivory Coast coach Emerse Faé couldn’t escape the questions: “Back in France for preparation, journalists said he’d sign for PSG. Now I arrive in the US and they tell me he’s going to Liverpool. We’ll see. I think he’s very focused on the World Cup first, and afterwards he’ll make the best decision for his career.”

PSG drop out of Diomande race

The battle between PSG and Liverpool appears to have been won by the Reds. It is understood the English club has already reached a personal agreement with the Ivory Coast star (12 caps), while Parisian officials have decided to walk away from the negotiations. The Ligue 1 champions were put off by RB Leipzig’s asking price — a staggering €120 million for the teenage sensation.
