Amadou Ba of Pastef reveals truth about Sonko-Touré phone calls

Amadou Ba de Pastef : « La vérité sur les appels téléphoniques entre Ousmane Sonko et Aminata Touré »

According to the deputy, the former Prime Minister allegedly made highly critical remarks about Bassirou Diomaye Faye during this call.

During a press briefing organized by Pastef-Les Patriotes, Deputy Amadou Ba unveiled what he asserted to be the unequivocal truth regarding telephone exchanges between Ousmane Sonko and Aminata Touré during the period of the Prime Minister’s incarceration. This disclosure comes as a further element in his defense of the current head of government amid ongoing controversy surrounding the management of public funds.

The parliamentarian reported that the former Prime Minister, Aminata Touré, allegedly voiced severe criticism of Bassirou Diomaye Faye during her conversation with Ousmane Sonko. “Diomaye is incapable of leading this country. If you leave him here, he will not last two years,” she reportedly confided to Sonko, as relayed by Amadou Ba.

Ba now finds this alleged declaration difficult to reconcile with the current political stances advocated by Aminata Touré. He explicitly accuses her of attempting to “rewrite history” and manipulate past events to align with the evolving political landscape and power dynamics.

Despite the intense verbal clashes now characterizing the two political factions, Amadou Ba nevertheless sought to de-escalate tensions. He called for moderation rather than an intensification of hostilities. “He is pushing us towards violence, and we will not succumb to it,” Ba affirmed, reiterating Pastef’s commitment to prioritizing political discourse over direct confrontation.
