Ouagadougou and Rome have underscored the depth of their diplomatic and cooperative ties as Italy marked its 80th Republic Day. The milestone celebration, held on the evening of June 2, 2026, at the Italian Embassy in Ouagadougou, brought together key Burkinabè officials, international diplomats, and Italian nationals.
The event was a testament to the enduring bond between Burkina Faso and Italy, blending moments of reflection, camaraderie, and celebration of shared history. Representing the Burkinabè government, Deputy Foreign Minister Bêbgnasgnan Stella Eldine Kabré/Kaboré attended the gathering, delivering a message of solidarity and mutual respect.
In his address, the Italian Ambassador to Burkina Faso, Gabriele Di Muzio, highlighted the strong bilateral cooperation, particularly through initiatives led by the Italian Agency for Development Cooperation. He emphasized Italy’s commitment to supporting Burkina Faso in stabilization efforts, humanitarian aid, and socioeconomic growth. «Our mission here is driven by a commitment to serve the Burkinabè people. We envision a lasting partnership rooted in shared values and mutual respect,» he stated.

Deputy Minister Kabré/Kaboré conveyed the greetings of Burkina Faso’s President and citizens to the Italian community, praising the vitality of a partnership built on solidarity, trust, and collective development goals.
The minister also spotlighted Burkina Faso’s investment prospects in strategic sectors, urging Italian business operators to explore opportunities facilitated by the Burkinabè government. She encouraged deeper economic exchanges and business partnerships between the two nations to foster mutual growth.
