The government has announced a series of decrees launching training competitions, direct entry exams, professional assessments, and selection tests to fill these vacancies.
For the 2026 fiscal year, the Cameroonian state civil service is offering a total of 2,305 positions across various ministries. Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform Joseph LE initiated the recruitment process on 4 June by publishing the participation criteria through 36 decrees that open the competitions. In the accompanying information note, the minister details how the available posts are distributed.
First, for standard recruitments, 890 slots are available: 470 positions through direct entry exams for civil servants in financial administration, agriculture, mining and geology, civil engineering, livestock and marine fisheries, telecommunications, and public health; 100 positions via training competitions at the National Institute of Youth and Sports (INJS) and the National Centres for Youth and Sports (CENAJES); 220 slots through training competitions at the National School of Administration and Judiciary (ENAM); and 100 positions via selection tests.
Next, for special recruitments ordered by the President of the Republic in the health and education sectors, 1,200 slots are to be filled: 1,000 positions for free auditors at ENS and ENSET schools, and 200 slots for specialist doctors, complementing the 920 other positions opened under the health personnel recruitments of 7 and 10 April 2026. Regarding the free auditors, the minister specifies that when submitting their files, each candidate will choose a school where they wish to serve and will take the exam in the regional centre hosting that chosen institution.
Finally, 215 positions are to be filled through professional competitions.
It is worth noting that the number of positions for 2026 has decreased by 555 compared to the 2025 fiscal year, when the government opened competitions for 2,860 slots.
