Chad cracks down on illegal slaughterhouse in Farik Aguek

The municipal authorities of Abéché have taken decisive action to improve public health standards by dismantling an unauthorized slaughterhouse in the Farik Aguek neighborhood. This bold move underscores the commitment of local leadership to enforce food safety regulations and protect consumer health.

Led by Hissein Hassan Tabit, assistant to the delegated administrator, the operation targeted an illegal slaughtering site operating outside prescribed sanitary and regulatory frameworks. Upon inspection, authorities discovered multiple livestock carcasses on the premises, highlighting the urgent need for intervention.

The local administration emphasized that animal slaughter must exclusively occur in officially sanctioned facilities to ensure the safety of meat destined for human consumption. Officials also warned that additional surveillance and enforcement actions will follow to prevent future violations that could jeopardize public well-being.

This enforcement action demonstrates Abéché’s unwavering dedication to upholding hygiene standards, safeguarding public health, and fostering a safer urban environment for residents.
