Chelsea Football Club has finalized the acquisition of England international Morgan Rogers, securing the young attacking talent from Aston Villa in a deal that reshapes the Premier League transfer market this summer.
The Blues announced through their official channels that Rogers, 23, has committed to a long-term contract with Stamford Bridge, binding him to the club until 2033. The versatile forward is expected to integrate seamlessly into Xabi Alonso’s squad ahead of the upcoming campaign.
Rogers arrives at Chelsea following a standout stint at Aston Villa, where his goal contributions and creative play were instrumental in the club’s success. Over 85 Premier League appearances, he contributed directly to 40 goals, helping the Villans secure a top-four finish and ultimately lifting the Europa League trophy last season.
The England winger has already established himself as a key figure in Gareth Southgate’s national team setup, earning 22 caps since his debut in November 2024. His performances earned him a place in England’s squad for the 2026 FIFA World Cup, where the Three Lions finished as bronze medalists.
The transfer fee for Rogers has been reported at €117 million (approximately £138 million), placing this deal as the second-most expensive in Premier League history. Only Alexander Isak’s move from Newcastle to Liverpool last summer, valued at £125 million, sits higher in the record books.
Chelsea moved swiftly to secure Rogers’ services, outpacing Arsenal in a fierce competition for the young star’s signature. The Blues celebrated the announcement with a short video on X, simply captioned: “He chose Chelsea,” underscoring their decisive maneuver in the transfer window.
