The Collective of Descendants of Serigne Touba has taken legal action against political figure Ousmane Sonko, alleging the spread of false information and defamation. The legal team, led by Me Aboubacry Barro, confirmed the filing through a public statement shared on social media.
This move follows remarks attributed to Mr. Sonko, in which he claimed that « substantial sums of money have recently been directed to Touba, funds that belong to the nation and were obtained illegally. »
He further alleged that this financial influx is not intended for public or community purposes but rather to meet « political demands. »
