President Alassane Ouattara of Côte d’Ivoire expressed profound satisfaction with the outcomes of the Consultative Group meeting, convened to secure financing for the nation’s National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030. The gathering successfully mobilized 47,820 billion FCFA, equivalent to approximately 80 billion US dollars. This remarkable figure represents roughly four times the initial funding target sought from the private sector, highlighting an exceptional level of investor confidence.

President Ouattara emphasized that this triumph underscores the international community’s unwavering trust in Côte d’Ivoire and its promising trajectory for growth. He firmly pledged the government’s commitment to translating these substantial financial pledges into tangible progress, thereby enhancing the country’s vital infrastructure and expanding economic opportunities for all citizens.

The PND 2026-2030 is strategically structured around six core pillars: fostering peace, ensuring robust security, advancing agricultural development, stimulating private sector expansion, investing in human capital, upgrading critical infrastructure, and upholding principles of good governance. The overarching ambition is to elevate Côte d’Ivoire to an upper-middle-income economy by the year 2030, targeting a GDP per capita of 4,500 US dollars and reducing the national poverty rate to below 20%.

The pivotal Consultative Group event, held in Abidjan, brought together an impressive assembly of over 2,000 investors from 49 different nations. These participants, representing a diverse array of financial institutions and corporations, engaged in crucial discussions aimed at solidifying the financing framework for the PND.
