coup d’état thwarted in Bénin: fugitive putschists still at large

Following a tense Sunday marked by armed intrusion at the national television headquarters in Cotonou, military personnel claimed to have ousted President Patrice Talon. Yet, by evening, the Head of State declared the situation “fully under control” during a televised address.

The incident has prompted regional solidarity, with neighboring nations pledging military and logistical support to bolster stability.
