Dr edouard fonh-gbéi, head of cntig, honoured at african economy builders gala in Abidjan

Dr Edouard Fonh-Gbéi, director general of the National Committee for Remote Sensing and Geographic Information (CNTIG), received an award on Thursday, 18 June 2026, in Abidjan during the African Economy Builders Evening, a recognition he dedicates to his entire team and sees as an invitation to push forward with greater ambition and impact.

“This recognition is above all that of a committed team, a vision carried with conviction, and work accomplished with passion day after day,” said Dr Fonh-Gbéi, thanking the organisers and all those who support CNTIG in this journey.

Appointed head of CNTIG in 2012 following an international call for applications, this geodesic engineer holds a doctorate in civil engineering with a specialisation in satellite geodesy and has more than 20 years of international experience. He has made the promotion of geoinformation technologies a lever for Côte d’Ivoire’s economic development.

Under his leadership, CNTIG has established itself as a key player in the digitalisation of territories.

“I receive this prize with gratitude, but above all as an invitation to continue with even more ambition, rigour and impact. The best is yet to be built,” he added.

Founded in 2006, the African Economy Builders forum is a platform that promotes a culture of excellence and merit in the fields of entrepreneurship and business in Africa.
