Coventry City, gearing up for their Premier League return in the 2026-2027 season, has officially announced the permanent signing of Frank Onyeka from Brentford. The Nigerian midfielder now joins the Sky Blues on a full-time basis, solidifying his role within the club.
Onyeka initially arrived at City on a loan agreement last January. His definitive transfer from the Bees was activated following the opening of the summer transfer window, making his move official. The influential Nigerian international played a pivotal part in manager Frank Lampard’s squad as they triumphantly secured the Sky Bet Championship title. During his loan spell, he featured in 14 matches, notably striking a fantastic goal in a critical fixture against Derby County this past April.
At 28 years old, Onyeka brings considerable top-flight expertise, having accumulated 75 Premier League appearances during his tenure with Brentford. The specific length and financial terms of his new contract with Coventry City have not been disclosed.
