Gabon’s 7mp party expands grassroots network alongside president Oligui Nguema

Following a 20-day tour covering all nine provinces of Gabon, Joël Ngoueneni Ndzengouma, founding president of the Party for the 7 Wonders of the Gabonese People (7MP), outlined the outcomes of a mission that went beyond simple community outreach. Through restructuring local branches, recounting active members, and strengthening the Movement Oligui Nguema 100% (MON 100%), the tour demonstrated the 7MP’s determination to solidify its position within the presidential majority under the Fifth Republic.

From June 4 to June 23, 2026, Ndzengouma traveled across the nation to meet supporters, local officials, and citizens. The tour’s results were presented at a press conference at the 7MP headquarters in Libreville, as part of a strategy to revitalize the party and consolidate backing for President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema. Founded in 2010, the 7MP now defines itself as part of the presidential movement. The MON 100%, launched in February 2025, was created to support the president’s reforms and mobilize citizens around his agenda.

A tour focused on political restructuring

Beyond meeting communities, the mission aimed to reorganize party structures nationwide. According to 7MP officials, the work included recounting active members, registering new members, identifying new local leaders, and strengthening provincial coordinations. The MON 100% also used the tour to expand its presence in all nine provinces, aiming to unite more citizens behind the president’s vision.

For Ndzengouma, this tour comes at a time when the institutions of the Fifth Republic are being established. Exchanges with militants reaffirmed the 7MP’s positioning as a party committed to the president’s side, supporting the reforms initiated since the Transition. This effort is part of a broader reshaping of the Gabonese political landscape, where several parties seek to consolidate their territorial base after the presidential, legislative, and local elections.

Perspectives focused on the ground

Following this mission, the 7MP announced several actions to continue its growth: strengthening provincial coordinations, multiplying citizen meetings, structuring the MON 100%, and setting up a permanent mechanism to collect citizens’ concerns.

Beyond organizational results, this tour appears as a step in the 7MP’s strategy to secure its place in the presidential majority and support the political direction of the Fifth Republic, while seeking to strengthen its presence among populations across the national territory.
