Gabon has successfully secured a significant sum exceeding 524 billion FCFA from international financial markets, delivering a clear and compelling message to global investors. Under the decisive leadership of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, the nation’s return to this vital market has culminated in an operation designed to settle its outstanding debt arrears and provide essential funding for critical development projects within the energy and water sectors.
Committed to fiscal realism and adhering to the guidelines set forth in the 2026 amended finance law, the government is also actively pursuing an agreement with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) to bolster its efforts in enhancing the daily lives of Gabonese households. This strategic financial maneuver has garnered widespread commendation both domestically and internationally.
“On behalf of Promeritum, I extend my congratulations to you and your team for the successful eurobond placement. The exceptionally positive market reception is a testament to this achievement. We particularly valued the transparency maintained throughout the process, your readiness to address our inquiries, and your willingness to incorporate the observations we presented during our meeting,” affirmed Fernando Gimenez, Promeritum’s principal economist.
This signals an end to any previous uncertainty, as Gabon now firmly embraces a path characterized by meticulous methodology and strategic foresight. As a pivotal member of the Economic and Monetary Community of Central Africa (CEMAC), the nation reaffirms its strong capability to attract international markets by consistently providing assurances to both investors and financial partners.
