Kenya and Chad deepen diplomatic ties and security cooperation
Kenyan President William Ruto highlights strong bilateral relations with Chad and commends its leadership in Haiti’s security mission.
President William Ruto of Kenya has underscored the robust diplomatic ties between Nairobi and N’Djamena, emphasizing shared values, mutual respect, and African solidarity as the foundation of their bilateral relations.
He reaffirmed Kenya’s commitment to advancing common African positions that prioritize the interests of both nations, the continent’s progress, and strengthened international cooperation.
In a post on social media, the President extended his heartfelt appreciation to the Chadian government for its pivotal role in the United Nations-backed multinational security mission in Haiti. He highlighted Chad’s deployment of troops as a critical contribution to restoring peace, stability, and hope for the people of Haiti.
Ruto also recounted productive discussions held with Chadian President Mahamat Idriss Déby during a recent meeting at the State House in Nairobi. He expressed gratitude for the Chadian leader’s invaluable role in ensuring the success of the just-concluded Africa Forward Summit.
