André Luther Meka, a spokesperson for the Cameroon People’s Democratic Rally (RDPC), expressed outrage over the linguistic proficiency of Mamadou Mota, the vice-president of the Cameroon Renaissance Movement (MRC).
The criticism came after Mota’s appearance on the show ‘La Vérité en face’ on Equinoxe TV on Sunday, June 28, 2026.
On his social media platforms, Meka wrote: ‘I followed the show “La Vérité en face” on Equinoxe TV via YouTube with keen interest. I am outraged by Mamadou Mota’s slaughter of the French language and his disregard for morphosyntax and conceptual mastery. It was a veritable game of butchery against the language of Ronsard and Lamartine. The pinnacle of mediocrity was displayed on Sunday before the small screen. Good heavens!!!!’
During the Sunday broadcast, Mamadou Mota argued for the return of Maurice Kamto to the presidency of the MRC, despite internal dissent stirred by some party officials, including Willy Mengue.
