After a stellar season at Bayern Munich, Michael Olise has been shining at the World Cup, confirming his status as France’s creative engine. That inevitably attracts Europe’s elite, with Real Madrid reportedly ready to break the bank for the former Crystal Palace winger. Yet behind the scenes, a confidential agreement between the two clubs’ presidents is making a summer move impossible.
A non-aggression pact between Real Madrid and Bayern?
Real Madrid would love to sign Olise, but any notion that he could leave this summer is false. The Spanish club has publicly denied making any contact with the player or Bayern. The reality: Florentino Pérez and Herbert Hainer, presidents of Real Madrid and Bayern Munich respectively, have developed a close relationship over Champions League dinners in Madrid and Munich. Hainer made it unequivocally clear to his friend that Olise is not for sale. Pérez, in turn, assured he would never pursue the player without first notifying Hainer. That is why the transfer rumours are baseless.
Currently, Real Madrid knows there is no chance
The two presidents have sealed what insiders call the ‘presidential pact’. Even a €300 million offer would be rejected outright. Real Madrid is ready to step back if Bayern refuses to sell. Olise’s long-term contract in Munich (until 2029) leaves him with no leverage, and it remains unclear whether he even wants to leave. The speculation should therefore quieten down significantly.
