Morocco’s human-centred migration policy highlighted by minister in Spain

Morocco’s forward-looking approach to migration management, built on principles of solidarity, shared accountability, and respect for human dignity, took centre stage on Thursday in Huelva, Spain. The country’s minister of economic inclusion, small business, employment and skills, Younes Sekkouri, outlined the strategy during a dedicated forum.

Speaking at the event titled “Migration Governance and Circular Migration between Morocco and Spain: Keys to Beneficial Cooperation,” Sekkouri emphasised that this humanitarian migration policy is implemented under the high directives of King Mohammed VI. He explained that this royal vision places human capital at the heart of public policies and views mobility as a driver of economic growth, a channel for skills transfer, and a means to bring communities closer together.
