Abidjan, 07 juil 2026 – The Democratic Party of Côte d’Ivoire – African Democratic Rally (PDCI-RDA) has once again affirmed its unwavering stance regarding the establishment of a unified electoral body. Speaking from Abidjan Cocody on Tuesday, July 7, 2026, party spokesperson Brédoumy Soumaïla emphasized that this crucial objective necessitates direct political dialogue among key stakeholders, rather than a mere informational briefing.
“The PDCI-RDA has officially approached the government, requesting the prompt initiation of this dialogue. Our recent history clearly demonstrates that lasting peace and social cohesion are unattainable without genuine consultation,” stated Mr. Soumaïla during a press conference held at the Party Headquarters.
He expressed dissatisfaction with the head of government’s decision to invite political parties to an information session that lacked any opportunity for exchange, deeming such an approach inadequate. The party intends to reiterate its demand for an inclusive negotiation framework whenever the situation calls for it.
Furthermore, the PDCI-RDA insists on the revision of the electoral list before the close of 2026, aligning with the provisions of the Electoral Code. Mr. Brédoumy highlighted the failure to conduct the scheduled 2025 revision, which was funded through the state budget, without any official justification. “The government must provide an account to Ivorian taxpayers regarding the management of these funds,” he asserted.
“The populace is seeking assistance from the PDCI-RDA. This support will materialize through President Cheick Tidjane Thiam, as we aim to reclaim state power to foster progress for all and ensure prosperity for every individual,” concluded the party spokesperson.
