The founder of KIIRAAY – Les Patriotes Républicains underscored Senegal’s enduring commitment to stability and peace. His pronouncement comes amidst escalating tensions between the two highest figures in the executive branch, driven by the ongoing restructuring of the presidential majority and the emergence of President Faye’s new political entity.
This public declaration follows several months of discernible disagreements between the Head of State and his former Head of Government. Their divergent approaches were evident in their respective addresses to the nation, culminating in the definitive separation between the presidential coalition and the Pastef party.
Notably, Ousmane Sonko, the president of Pastef, has concurrently initiated his own membership drive, actively engaging with supporters to expand his party’s base in recent days.
