The Rassemblement pour la Patrie et la Modernité (RPM), an active member of the ruling coalition in Gabon, has officially commended President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema for his relentless dedication to national development. In a public declaration signed by party spokesperson Etienne Francky Meba Ondo, the political group highlighted the intense efforts deployed by the head of state during August.
Shifting from promises to tangible results
Under the banner of “From action to results,” the RPM expressed deep appreciation for the newly introduced healthcare reforms, the visible progress on the ground, and the administration’s focus on rural provinces. A major highlight is the 55 billion CFA francs funding package announced in Makokou for the health sector. This massive investment allocates 44 billion CFA francs to upgrade national medical equipment, 6 billion CFA francs to restart cafeteria services inside hospitals, and 5 billion CFA francs to boost the National Health Insurance and Social Guarantee Fund (CNAMGS). The party stresses that these measures directly address the urgent needs of the population and demands their swift execution.
Infrastructure development beyond the capital
In addition to healthcare, the RPM pointed to several newly commissioned administrative, commercial, military, and medical facilities across Grand Libreville. During the Liberation Day events in Makokou, the government also unveiled 17 structural initiatives for the Ogooué-Ivindo province. Regional development is also visible in the Mayiga residential project, which features 50 completed homes, 25 currently under construction, and a final goal of 500 serviced plots, ensuring that progress reaches far beyond the capital city.
A demand for concrete proof
Reflecting on Gabon’s 66th Independence anniversary and the third anniversary of the Liberation coup, the RPM echoed a strong statement from the president: “The time for promises must give way to the time for proof.” Embracing this philosophy, the party maintains that the success of any government initiative must be measured solely by its positive, everyday impact on the lives of Gabonese citizens.
The party also welcomed the recent diplomatic visit of Democratic Republic of Congo President Félix-Antoine Tshisekedi Tshilombo to Libreville, which concluded with the signing of three bilateral cooperation agreements.
Maintaining political momentum
The RPM is urging the administration to sustain this positive trajectory by focusing on project delivery, maintaining existing infrastructure, and generating employment opportunities for young people. It reaffirmed its loyalty to the republic while supporting national unity and modernization efforts.
Led by Alexandre Barro Chambrier, who currently serves as the Vice President of the Republic, the RPM allied with the coalition backing President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema during the presidential election on April 12, 2025. While maintaining its political independence, the party continues to hold three seats in the National Assembly.
