Union Saint-Gilloise is set to kick off its continental campaign, making its return to the UEFA Champions League. To secure a spot in the play-offs of Europe’s premier club competition, the Brussels squad must overcome the challenge posed by Bodø/Glimt in the third qualifying round.
Following their initial foray into the Champions League last season, the Unionists harbor ambitions of ascending to the pinnacle of European football once more. However, this objective presents a significant challenge against the formidable Norwegian side, Bodø/Glimt, who emerged as a true standout in their previous European campaign, notably reaching the round of 16.
The first leg of this crucial tie will unfold on Belgian soil, where Union Saint-Gilloise must establish a strong advantage before embarking on a particularly demanding away trip to northern Norway. Beyond the Arctic Circle, amidst unique conditions and an intense atmosphere, the Saint-Gillois squad recognizes that a significant portion of their European aspirations could well be decided during this initial home fixture.
Fans eager to follow this two-legged battle can catch all the live action on RTL club and RTL play. The first match is scheduled for Tuesday, August 4th, with coverage beginning at 7:45 PM. Vincenzo Ciuro and Silvio Proto will provide expert commentary, while Anne Ruwet will be pitchside for exclusive interviews.
The decisive return leg will air on Tuesday, August 11th, starting at 5:55 PM, also available on RTL club and RTL play.
