During the founding assembly of the Taxawu Sénégal party, led by Khalifa Sall, Aïssata Tall Sall delivered a powerful political address. Her speech focused on criticizing the current leadership while advocating for a unified and strategic opposition.
Criticism of the current administration
Directly addressing those in power, she asserted that the people have already signaled their rejection of the current regime. She stated that the authorities are failing to act as people of law, behaving instead as if they held absolute power without legal constraints.
The former minister highlighted the necessity of maintaining political determination and organization. “Keep your heads held high,” she urged, commending the bravery and intellect of the supporters. However, she noted that strategy remains the most critical factor for the future of Sénégal.
A roadmap for electoral success
Looking toward future political contests, Aïssata Tall Sall called for a progressive display of strength. She explained that the opposition must prove its influence during local and legislative elections before ultimately demonstrating its power in the presidential race.
In her concluding remarks, she shared words of encouragement for the party militants and Khalifa Sall. She affirmed that they are in their rightful place and pledged that, together, they would work toward the conquest of power.
