Chad Algeria strengthen energy ties with sonelgaz power project

After three days of intensive technical discussions and on-site inspections in N’Djamena, the delegation from Sonelgaz International is concluding a successful working mission in Chad. The Algerian team, which traveled to evaluate and advance plans for a new 50 MW power plant, was honored with an official dinner hosted by Chad’s Minister of Water and Energy at a local hotel.

The evening was filled with cultural performances, a shared meal, and a ceremonial cake-cutting, all symbolizing the strong and enduring partnership between Chad and Algeria. Beyond the formalities, the visit included site visits and detailed assessments of the proposed location for the upcoming power station, reinforcing the commitment to bolster Chad’s energy infrastructure.

For Chadian officials, this project represents more than just infrastructure—it is a tangible demonstration of solidarity and a milestone in relations with Algeria. The planned 50 MW plant is set to significantly improve electricity access for local communities, addressing a critical need in the country’s development.
