Chad’s Ministry of Environment, Fisheries and Sustainable Development has issued a strict directive prohibiting agents of the water and forestry services from wearing military-style uniforms, insignia, ranks, berets or any other paraphernalia associated with the armed forces.
The circular, signed by the ministry’s Secretary-General, Koularambaye Koundja Julien, follows repeated reports of military personnel transferred to civilian roles and some civil servants using equipment reserved exclusively for the Chadian National Army (ANT).
Any violation of this ban will result in disciplinary action. Department heads at both central and regional levels have been instructed to enforce the rule immediately.
