On May 23, 2026, the salle bleue at ONAMA hosted a distinguished gathering to unveil « L’évolution de la vie parlementaire tchadienne de 1960 à 2020 », a comprehensive 612-page study authored by former National Assembly deputy Issa Hassana Adoum.
This meticulously researched work spans six decades of Chad’s parliamentary journey, structured across five thematic chapters. It offers a detailed account of institutional transformations, key milestones, challenges overcome, and the nation’s evolving political landscape since gaining independence in 1960. The book stands as a rigorous academic contribution, shedding light on the forces that have shaped Chad’s legislative identity over time.
Speaking at the event, Dr. Issa Hassana Adoum emphasized that his book serves as both a scholarly resource for academics and students and a reference document for policymakers and future generations. He noted that the publication originated as his doctoral thesis before being expanded and published as a full-length book.
The Arabic-language publication drew significant attention during the presentation. Attendees and commentators underscored the need for a complete French translation to broaden accessibility. Such a move, they argued, would allow more researchers, students, and readers to engage with this critical analysis of Chad’s parliamentary evolution.
The evening concluded with a signing session, where Issa Hassana Adoum personally autographed copies of his work for attendees.
