Abidjan — The second day of the National Development Plan (PND) 2026-2030 Consultative Group, dedicated to investors, was officially opened on July 9, 2026, at the Sofitel Hôtel Ivoire in Abidjan. Prime Minister Robert Beugré Mambé led the high-level session, emphasizing the critical role of private investment in driving Côte d’Ivoire’s economic ambitions.
« This session marks a pivotal moment in our collective effort to harness private capital for sustainable growth, » said the Prime Minister. « We are encouraged to see over 700 international investors from allied nations joining this vital dialogue. Your presence underscores the confidence in Côte d’Ivoire’s economic trajectory and its potential for transformative progress. »
Building a shared vision for Côte d’Ivoire’s future
The gathering brought together business leaders, investors, and private sector representatives, all committed to Côte d’Ivoire’s development agenda. In his address, the Prime Minister highlighted the government’s commitment to positioning the private sector as the engine of economic transformation.
« Your partnership is indispensable, » he remarked. « Together, we are laying the foundation for a more competitive and job-creating economy. The success of our vision hinges on your willingness to invest in key sectors that will define Côte d’Ivoire’s future. »
The Prime Minister reassured investors of Côte d’Ivoire’s economic resilience, pointing to an average growth rate of 6.5% over recent years. « Despite global uncertainties, our economy has demonstrated remarkable adaptability, securing its place among Africa’s most dynamic markets. »
Unlocking opportunities in priority sectors
He outlined the sectors poised for accelerated investment under the PND 2026-2030, including:
- Industrialization and local processing of raw materials to boost value addition;
- Strategic infrastructure development, with a focus on transport, digitalization, and logistics;
- Human capital investment, innovation, and essential services to foster a productive and inclusive economy.
The Prime Minister also noted that the first day of the Consultative Group, dedicated to institutional partners, had already attracted over 3,000 participants from 49 countries, reflecting strong international interest in Côte d’Ivoire’s development strategy.
Private sector leaders pledge commitment
In a show of solidarity, representatives from leading business organizations echoed the government’s optimism. Ahmed Cissé, President of the Confédération générale des Entreprises de Côte d’Ivoire (CGECI), along with Mehdi Tazi (President of the CGEM in Morocco) and Mohamed Gouled (Vice-President of the International Finance Corporation), reaffirmed their readiness to contribute financially to the PND 2026-2030.
« We stand ready to play our part in realizing this ambitious plan, » they stated, signaling a new chapter of collaboration between Côte d’Ivoire’s government and global investors.
