Abidjan, May 26, 2026 – Côte d’Ivoire’s national agenda is currently buzzing with several significant developments, prominently featuring a heartfelt tribute to the President of the Republic in Kabadougou, the announcement of a substantial investment for the third phase of the Baleine oil field, and the ongoing preparations for the 80th-anniversary celebration of the PDCI-RDA party.
The recent tour through Kabadougou underscored the profound impact of the head of state’s development initiatives. The region is celebrating what many describe as a “decade of transformation,” marked by crucial advancements in infrastructure, roads, and educational facilities. Vice-Prime Minister Téné Birahima Ouattara emphasized that such progress is not coincidental, but rather the result of deliberate efforts.
During the Kabadougou visit, in recognition of the President’s commitment, Téné Birahima Ouattara officially inaugurated several vital infrastructure projects. This move highlights the administration’s dedication to narrowing the development gap between different regions across Côte d’Ivoire, a core tenet of President Ouattara’s vision.
Economically, the country is set to see a major boost with the announcement regarding the third phase of the offshore Baleine oil field. Côte d’Ivoire and its international partners have confirmed a significant investment in this hydrocarbon project, signaling robust growth in the energy sector.
Further details reveal that industry giants Eni, Petroci, and Vitol are jointly committing an impressive $4 billion towards the realization of Baleine oil field’s phase 3. This massive undertaking is poised to significantly enhance Côte d’Ivoire’s energy capabilities and contribute substantially to its economic prosperity.
Meanwhile, political attention is also directed towards Abengourou, where preparations are in full swing for the 80th-anniversary festivities of the PDCI-RDA. Amoikon Banga, President of the Organizing Committee (PCO), anticipates a powerful demonstration of the party’s strength, with the grand ceremony scheduled for May 30.
Amoikon Banga further detailed the extensive mobilization efforts underway in the Indénié-Djuablin region, projecting the assembly of over 10,000 dedicated militants. This upcoming event is clearly designed to be a formidable display of the PDCI-RDA’s enduring influence and widespread support.
